|HAND TECHNIQUES|
When we all chose a workshop I originally put myself down for 3D Textiles but I swapped workshops with a group member that didn't come in for personal reasons.
We was taught by Lynn about hand stitching and quilting, along with many different techniques used to sew clothing and fabrics.
She showed us some hand made jackets and head-wear that had hand stitches in vertical and horizontal lines down the fabric to hold it in place and to give it strength and padding, but also to add a pattern to the piece.

I really found this interesting as some of the samples she showed us looked lovely and detailed, but when it came to doing a few of my own I didn't know how I could incorporate the theme from our group as we hadn't decided on a solid colour pallet and patterns, the prints that we had as a group were all very tough and I wasn't able to sew into them with my needle, the prints were very bright and the thread wouldn't show up very well.
I did a couple samples with the fabrics I had with me to practice quilting.
