After the Unit launch, we was all put into groups and then had a designer called Tom go through his work whilst working for James Long, and showed us the collections and inspitation boards, and how their process of going through a theme worked for them. They showed us samples, and different techniques they used in their collections,
After we was put in groups we all got together and assigned ourselves to different workshops, and was given a task to create a starting theme. Because we was group 1, I feel like we struggled because we had the least amount of time to do researching but we came up with a really interesting idea. After going through james longs reoccuring inspiration which was sportswear and he used a lot of sweaters, jogging bottoms, jeans for example, we thought about looking at the idea of architecture/scaffolding and council flats. We also originally wanted to bring in the lower class/middle class comfort clothes kind of feel and we also looked at 1960's kitchy wallpaper and incorporated that into it too.
We also created a joint pintrest board that documented looks and different techniques that we was all interested in. [Pintrest board here]
