|MEETING TOM, FROM JAMES LONG|
After finding a quick theme to show to Tom we gathered images in the spread of 2 sheets to try and fit our idea together, I feel like we rushed it because of the shortage of time but one group member suggested an image from Trainspotting which was of a scene where the council flats was behind the main character with curtains of many colours. Not thinking this image was very important we emphasized the idea of looking into kids toys a couple decades ago, how lego was popular and the red buggies children would have in their gardens. We wasn't quite sure what we would use it for but I think it would be good if we could use the shapes or maybe the texture of the lego into the garments. But everyone just settled on the colours and the nostalgia of middle class life side of it.
Once we showed these images to Tom, he didn't really go for the idea of using toys in the theme, and instead found the image from trainspotting really interesting and he told us to use this as our main image and inspiration to look at and told us to research around the image and to delve into the story around it.
